Change in weight (1/19/21 – 2/1/21): -0.6 LBS
It has been two weeks since I last posted and things are a bit different! This past Monday, my wife and I welcomed our baby boy into the world. In a blog about health, wellbeing, betterment, and a constant search for improving, I can say my heart is full and life just got a whole lot better!
All I will say today about my weight loss journey is that, despite not working out (because we were in the hospital for four days) and having some sleepless nights, my simple dedication to being smart paid off and I dropped a little weight. I am planning on getting back into my power zone bike routine and my daily plans for this week.

Now back to fatherhood and family.
How to you put into words the change that happens to you when you hear your baby’s first cry, or when they look into your eyes for the first time? It is tough, but I can say it affirms, ten-fold, that a commitment to being the best person I can be is all the more important. After my daughter was born, I told myself that I owed it to her to get healthier. Now with her brother, I have been doing that. I am down 50 pounds and will continue to get healthier into the future for them and for me.
I am again reminded of the important things in life. Family, love, faith, friends, commitment, and hope are foundations of the future. They set up to future to be as bright as we hope to realize it. Now a dad of two, I want to be more successful. I don’t just want to be successful with work, no. I want to be a successful dad and a family man you could write a book on.
Every choice and decision we make usually has a deeper foundation. The directions we point our life are built on a need and a want. It is a scary world out there right now. There are so many unknowns and so much sorrow. I will work to remove as much uncertainty as I can for my kids and my family. This starts with my existing commitments to my health and wellbeing and it will only grow as my family grows.
Thanks for hearing me out on this rather deep snapshot of my current brain. I hope you all are well and I’ll be writing more soon… hopefully some future posts about working out with kids!
