change in weight (4/6/21 – 4/12/21): –2.2 LBS
I recently read a quote that said “pay attention to those who go quiet when you are positive.” I found this to be profound because we need to celebrate when we feel amazing. We need those around us to celebrate us when we feel amazing. This life is too hard and full of craziness to have people bitter about positivity. We need to own it when we can! With that said, today I feel like shouting from the hills. I feel so good and it is because I am crushing my goals.

I went for a run today while it was misting and in the low 40s. It was gross out and usually I would stay in. Despite all that, my first mile was awesome and I felt great. I also lost a bunch of weight this past week because I stuck to my plan. I am tracking my eating closely, being realistic about my workouts, and my body is responding. It just feels good to succeed when you put in the work.
So I am now down 59 pounds. I am 1 pound from 60 and 4.2 pounds away from dropping below 280. I cannot help but be proud and thrilled. I know weight is one aspect of a broader health journey, but I need to lose a certain amount of weight to just get healthier. And on top of this, I spent the winter months struggling and plateauing with my progress. Seeing that I have not gained weight, week over week, since the beginning of Feb is reassuring me of my own abilities. Despite the months and months of success, I still need to see that progress to remind me that I can. And I can. I am.

I want to take this last moment to remind everybody to celebrate things that are positive in their life. It doesn’t have to be weight loss, it could be a run, it could be getting up when you planned. Celebrate any little thing because you deserve to be happy and you deserve top be excited about any milestone, big or small. I am celebrating a scale victory today and getting out running. I am also celebrating logging all my food for weeks. Two weeks ago I was celebrating the joy of family and seeing somebody for once. Pick something from today and celebrate it because you did do something today worth celebrating.
So what are you celebrating today?
April Goals:
I have a couple goals for April. I want to run a 5k again. The weather is nicer and I want to get that 10k done later this year. First step is to get those running legs back under me. The next goals is to drink a gallon of water every day. I have been horrible about water intake (unless we cheat and count coffee as water). Enough said on this one. Lastly, I would like to drop below 280 by the end of the month. 60 pounds lost is right beyond my fingers and the 270s are a mere few pounds more. I can do it.

You have some good advice there regarding celebrating the little things. I think I need to start implementing that.
Water, ugh…I’m the worst at intake. I’m just not normally thirsty. I have to force it down, but I know it needs to be done.

I have not been good lately with water. But that’s a perfect example of what I mean. We sometimes set such lofty goals that we get ourselves down feeling upset if we don’t hit them.
If you hit your water target, celebrate because you deserve to and it’s not always easy!
